Plenty of rest - Lots of water- Scheduled time for meals, homework, fitness and fun!  Encouraging healthy habits such as these will help keep your dancers healthy, focused and positive.  Should your dancer obtain an injury, seek a doctor's advise.  It is important to prevent injury, however should one occur, get the proper information on how to properly treat the situation from a medical professional.
   
Stay ahead of the game- take the initiative to find out what is going on at the studio.  Keeping up on events will help you organize your dancer and your own schedule, therefore avoiding any last minute hassles.
   
Organize a Parent Committee! How about getting involved in the community with an outreach program?  Sponsor a needy child or family.  Especially is these times, set up a disaster relief fund for a local or national group that has come upon rough times.  This is a wonderful way to teach valued lessons to your children and you will be amazed at how wonderful you will feel for your efforts.  Positive creates positive!
   
Be a mentor!  So many of the parents have tremendous skills and vast amounts of knowledge in a world of varied areas.  Brainstorm!  Maybe a parent that is a doctor can give a Injury Prevention Class, or maybe a parent that is in construction can assist with the building of your recital sets?  Utilize your assets - they are right there in front of you!
   
Is your dancer considering a career or college dance program and you don't know where to start?  There is a multitude of resources available to you.  Start early.  Go online - Talk to your college advisor - Outline what your interests are and start your research from there.
